Start with the trading platform
Every account connection begins with the platform used by the broker account. CopierPilot currently supports MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 as live connectors. TradingView, cTrader, DXtrade, NinjaTrader, TradeLocker and Match-Trader are planned integrations and remain marked as coming soon until their connectors are available.
Choosing the correct platform matters because the available connection steps, account details and future route options depend on that connector. The Multi-Platform page shows the current availability of every platform.
Prepare the correct account details
Before starting, confirm which broker or account provider holds the account, which trading server it uses and which account login belongs to it. For the current MT4 and MT5 connection flow, the broker, server and login must match the account exactly.
The authentication method can differ between platforms as new connectors are introduced. Only use the connection details requested by the selected connector, and never share account access with another Peer Copy participant. A Master or Follower does not need the other trader’s broker credentials.
Add and identify the account
In the account workspace, choose Add account, select the live platform connector and then select the correct broker and server. Enter the requested account details and give the connection a clear internal name.
A useful name should make the account recognisable without relying on the login number alone. Names such as “London Strategy”, “Funded 100K” or “Reserve Account” make it easier to organise routes, protection policies and analytics when several accounts are connected.
Confirm the connection status
A saved account is not ready for use until the connection is confirmed. A connected status means CopierPilot can recognise the account through the selected connector. An attention status means the connection needs review before it should be relied on for a new route.
Check the broker, platform, server, account identifier and displayed account information. If a connection needs attention, resolve that state before creating or resuming copy routes. Connection status should remain visible during normal account monitoring.
Choose how the account will be used
Connecting an account does not automatically create a copying relationship. In Trade Copier, the connected account can later be selected as a Source or Destination when a route is created. The route then defines sizing, trade handling and protection around that relationship.
Peer Copy uses the separate roles Master and Follower. A Follower connects and controls their own destination account, while the Master manages access to the private strategy network. Connected accounts can also be used independently for Account Protection and Analytics without being part of a copy route.
Keep control of the connection
The account owner remains responsible for the broker account, its permissions and its suitability for each workflow. Review connection health, linked routes and protection coverage whenever account details, broker conditions or trading objectives change.
Removing or reconnecting an account can affect active routes, Peer Copy relationships and monitoring. Check open positions and route status before changing a connection. For broader information about the way CopierPilot handles platform access and account responsibilities, review the Security page.
Understand live and coming-soon availability
Live means the platform connector is currently available for supported account connections. Coming soon means the platform is part of the planned integration roadmap but cannot yet be used to connect an account or build a live route.
Platform availability does not mean every broker, server, account type or provider rule is automatically supported. Confirm the specific connection and any provider restrictions before relying on a workflow.
What happens after the account is connected?
Once the account is connected and healthy, choose the next step that fits the purpose of the account: create a Source-to-Destination route, apply an Account Protection policy, connect it to a private Peer Copy relationship or begin reviewing its results in Analytics.
Keeping these steps separate makes the setup easier to understand. First connect and verify the account. Then define how it should be used, what protection applies and how its activity will be monitored.
Connect first. Build the workflow second.
